Apple Blossom Festival, 1927. The C.L. Robinson Cold Storage Company presented this float - possibly a tribute to the US Navy dirigible Shenandoah, which was lost in a crash in September 1925. See Fletcher, Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival, p. 24 ph b. The airship had been sponsored by Mrs. Edwin Denby, wife of the Secretary of the Navy, who named it after her home in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.
