Description |
Playbill for "King of the Mandingoes", a play written by Powell W. Gibson and performed by the children on February 11, 1921. The school was then located at the Old Stone Presbyterian Church, 306 East Piccadilly Street. The names and synopsis on the playbill suggest that the play was inspired by H. Rider Haggard's "King Solomon's Mines". School was known as "Douglas School" from 1916 to 1927, when the new Douglas School building was opened. |
