Description |
Concrete bridge over Linville Creek at "Washington's Ford" (where Washington forded the creek, Sept. 30, 1784). Where Ida Tarbell, her sister, and Mrs. Wayland sat in auto and ate apples while the driver (Wayland?) waded out and went up to the house for a horse, Oct. 13, 1922.) Date given as Feb 28 1933. 26-468 and 26-469 mounted on same cardboard, with annotations and hand-drawn map of surrounding area. |
