Description |
Jordan Springs Sulphur Springhouse. This gazebo-type building covers a large spring of sulphur water used by patrons of the resort. Date uncertain, probably c. 1910. No persons identified. Detailed history of resort: Hotel built 1893, ceased operating by 1916. Unsuccessful attempt to re-establish as hotel, 1949-50. Leased in 1951 to Franklin Foundation of Philadelphia. Used as Catholic seminary 1954-1972, thereafter leased to Shalom & Benedictus Inc. as rehabilitation center for young people. (129-092 is not in PastPerfect.) |
